Battle of the Bands – Day 5

Round One is officially in the books, and what a way to close it out!

First up, “Riptide” by Vance Joy rode a strong wave of support to take down Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” It was a tough matchup, but Riptide’s catchy rhythm carried it through to the next round.

Next, Linkin Park’s “In the End” proved that some songs really do stand the test of time, knocking out Simple Plan’s “Welcome to My Life.” The crowd showed up big for this one, and In the End moves on.

Then we headed to the country arena where Tyler Childers’ “All Your’n” lassoed up the win against Chris LeDoux’s “Hooked on an 8 Second Ride.” A solid country showdown, but All Your’n had just a little more horsepower.

And finally, the pop battle of the day saw Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” pull off the victory over Backstreet Boys’ “Backstreet’s Back.” A catchy hook and plenty of nostalgia helped push Call Me Maybe into Round Two.

 And now… Round Two begins!

Today’s matchups are stacked with some serious heavy hitters:

“Fortunate Son” vs. “Johnny B. Goode”
“Since U Been Gone”  vs. “Total Eclipse of the Heart”
“In the End”  vs. “All the Small Things”

Students and staff, make sure you get your votes in and help decide who moves one step closer to becoming our Battle of the Bands Champion!
