Over the next month Drummond School District will be sharing some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the May general fund mill levy. In these posts the District will be providing answers to the FAQs in addition to other helpful information to better inform the voting public. If you need further clarification, or have questions about the levy, please contact Superintendent Dean Phillips @ 288-4103.
FAQ: Why does the district need a general fund mill levy?
Answer: Mill levies are for operational costs. The mill levy is specifically for operational costs that have inevitably increased over the last 10 years. The high school has not proposed a levy to voters for at least 12 years, the elementary school last proposed a levy in 2014. As our budget has stayed relatively unchanged, our expenses have increased during this time.
